Hey, Chris Brown defenders (“OTHER CELEBRITIES DO IT! LEAVE CHRIS BROWN ALONE!1!one1!”), now you’re defending a misogynistic, homophobic, RACIST untalented shitbag.

I’m not trying to take away from the horrifying nature of this photo, but I feel like I need to bring up the fact that Colbert has done similar stuff, and not as many people called him out on it, including me.

The reason why I personally tend to call out Chris Brown is the cumulative amount of horrible bullshit he’s done. Yes, other celebrities have abused their partners. AND IT IS NOT AND IS NEVER OKAY. NO ONE SHOULD GET A PASS FOR THAT!

Yes, other people have appeared in racial drag for “comedic” reasons, including otherwise awesome people like Amy Sedaris and Stephen Colbert. That is also not okay.

But Chris Brown has done those things, gotten a tattoo of a battered woman on his neck (purportedly that of his victim), has gotten violent with a reporter (Robin Roberts) and the staff of her show (Good Morning America) when she asked pre-approved (by Brown’s handlers) questions about his assault charges/”rehab” for said charges, and in one of the most horrifying things to me (and here’s another area where he’s gotten a pass— remember how much we heard about Isaiah Washington allegedly using the word “faggot”? Including him being allegedly dropped from his show for it?) he taunted singer Raz-B with homophobic references to the rapper’s alleged molestation as a child at the hands of his manager when the singer spoke out against Brown and other domestic abusers.

And this was BEFORE his homophobic insult to newly “out” Frank Ocean (which he now denies).

The mass amount of stupid, horrible, problematic shit that Brown does and generally gets the fuck away boggles my mind and apparently many others. Also, Brown’s primary demographic are apparently “tweens” and teens, a group I’m going to go out on a limb and say need THE LEAST to see and hear messages and see this individual held up like a hero.

BONUS: The fact a piece of shit page like (TRIGGER WARNING!!! VIOLENT IMAGE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!!!) this can not only exist but have over fifteen thousand “likes” is yet another puzzler. And another embarrassment of our friendly-to-domestic-violence culture.
