In 2011, Rep. Gwen Moore breaks down the reality of having black babies, and the falsity of the “black genocide” lie. Let’s just use it as a reminder.
Fuck those shitbricks and their disrespect, talking when she’s speaking. She still slammed her point home on their racist, sexist, classist asses anyway.
In which Mitch McConnell starts a tumblr encouraging people to submit photos of themselves drinking alone, in order to win a drink with him
As a person who does social media stuff to pay the bills, it’s absolutely inspiring to watch the Republicans failing so hard at it. Like when you put glasses on your dog and prop it upright and laugh and laugh and laugh. It thinks it’s people!
And before you ask yourself, “Am I about to be taken to a Tumblr page full of smug middle-aged white men drinking alone?”, let me tell you that the answer is yes.
When you go to the zoo, there’s a sign that says please don’t feed the animals. There’s a reason, because they keep coming back.
I love the sass in the article:
His presumption about why there are signs in a zoo prohibiting people from feeding animals isn’t even correct. Animals in zoos have specialized diets, and if zoo spectators were allowed to feed them, it could cause them serious harm and even death if they were given the wrong kinds of food.
Furthermore, since the animals are in a zoo, held captive in a space in plain view of humans that is roughly 1/1000th the size of their natural habitats, we’re not quite sure how they could “keep coming back”.
Five Ways Rand Paul Whitesplained Politics At Howard University
oh silly Paul.
On Wednesday morning, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) gave an address at the historically-black Howard University designed to convince black voters to support Republicans. While some of his remarks, most notably on harsh drug laws and other civil liberties issues, were well-received, the majority of the speech consisted in Paul condescendingly explaining American racial history to the audience, occasionally incorrectly, and expecting that it would open black voters’ eyes to the real Republican Party.
Oh, I hope the author of A Black Man’s Letter to Mitt Romney issues a letter to Rand Paul if he hasn’t already.
“But are we really that surprised that these two young men didn’t think their actions were wrong? Videos of men running up to women they don’t know just to grab their ass or stomach and run away are played for laughs on shows like Tosh.0. (The show is run by a comedian who garnered tremendous support after he “joked” about a woman in his audience being gang raped.) A “funny” montage of women’s breasts shown at the Oscars included rape scenes. We have handfuls of qualifiers—date, legitimate, forcible, gray—that we throw in front of “rape” because we want to know if an assault was a “real” rape or one of those non-rapes Republican politicians keep talking about. And it’s not just rape that’s the joke—it’s women. Our very existence is presented to young men as fodder for sex and laughs, our humiliation and pain as goalposts for their masculinity. While mainstream culture fools itself into thinking that Americans take rape seriously, most women know better. We get the joke. We’re just tired of being the punchline.”
Anil Dash’s perfect response to Republican Senator Rob Portman’s new found support for Marriage Equality (Rob’s son is openly gay). Rob Portman is the ONLY Republican Senator that supports Marriage Equality. It’s a start. A sincere thank you to Sen. Portman, I hope other GOP members will follow you into the 21st Century.
